About Us
In 2016, the Robinhood Free Meetinghouse celebrated its 160th anniversary as a community focal point.
Designed by Moses Riggs, a scion of the Riggs family, in the Greek Revival style, the Meetinghouse was an expensive, public expression of the community’s economic success and the aspirations and devoutness of its residents. The community’s pooling of resources to build this central feature of their communal life was a significant milestone and illustrative of decision making in the community.
The Robinhood Free Meetinghouse is one of eight buildings built by three generations of the powerful Riggs family that form the historic nucleus of the village of Riggsville which became known by its current name, Robinhood Cove. Learn more about the history of the Meetinghouse.
The meetinghouse has served as shared religous space, an high school, and a regionally famous restaurant. Gagne Foods’ Robinhood Meetinghouse biscuits were born here! Visit Gagné Foods’ website to get your hands on some treats.
In the fall of 2016, the meetinghouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Who We Are
For over 20 years, Carlos and Ali visited Maine with each trip ending in the same lament “Wouldn’t it be great if we could live here?”
In 2015, we stopped asking and took action, moving from Washington, DC to the beautiful MidCoast community of Georgetown – bringing our kayaks, requisite Subaru, and long mothballed winter clothing.
Along the way we became the proud stewards of the historic Robinhood Free Meetinghouse. When we saw the building, we immediately fell in love; recognizing the place where we could combine our loves of food, conversation, learning, music, art, and performance. For many years, my wife and I have dreamed of creating a place for people to meet, share experiences, and create memories. Combined, we have spent more than 25 year working for digital and traditional media companies, developing new businesses and bringing people together.
We are building the Robinhood Free Meetinghouse as a home for special events and a platform for creative experimentation with a wide variety of partners.
