Jazz returns to Robinhood Cove!

Scott Davis, Trumpet/Vocals, is a well experienced, multi faceted jazz trumpet player and vocalist, having performed in numerous bands over the years in Maine and beyond. He leads various sized jazz bands, heads his 7 piece Dixie band, and leads The Scott Davis Blues Band, his 5 – 8 piece blues/rock band. He leads The Mike Willette Swing Band, a thirteen piece big band, as well as his own 11 piece big band. He performs regularly with The Opus One Big Band. He writes, arranges, and is the Pep Band Director at Morse High School. He plays in pit bands for shows, on recording sessions, subs with bands in need, and performs as a guest artist at southern Maine churches. You’ll enjoy his straight ahead, hard swinging style, the tenderness and humanity of his ballad playing, and the fun he brings to the band and audience.

Steve Footer, bass, holds degrees in music from The University of Maine at Augusta. He’s toured with The Larry Bisso and Joey Beddia Show Band from Boston Mass. He played for many years with The Ambassadors, the Bath Municipal big band. He’s played in pit bands for Studio Theater productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Tommy the Rock Opera, and plays with various jazz, country, wedding, and rock bands. He anchors the band like a block of granite, and makes the bass a very melodic instrument when he’s soloing.

Frank Vigneau, piano, has a degree in music education. He played in the 118th Army Band, stationed in France, playing, sax, clarinet and piano. He played with a variety of music groups in the Boston area after his time in the service, and taught music in the public school system for 28 years. Most recently, Frank has been playing with various Maine bands, including The Bellamy Jazz Band, The Bowdoin Polar Jazz Ensemble, The Mike Willette Swing Band, and Scott Davis bands. Frank is a very talented pianist, a great guy, and the musician we all want to grow up to be like.

Tickets $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
