It’s 2019 and concerts are back at the Meetinghouse! Start the year off with great local music in Nancy Sferra and the Rainsockets!

The Rainsockets is a trio from the Brunswick-Bath area comprised of three singer-songwriters: Giff Jamison, Tom Mitchell, and Nancy Sferra. Giff Jamison’s music draws from many influences such as Jorma Kaukinan, Taj Mahal, David Bromberg, and Elvis Costello, and his roots are country blues and finger style guitar. Empty prairies, slow rolling rivers, and lost travelers all find a place somewhere in his music. He is a 4-time finalist at the New England Songwriters’ Contest, and in 2013 released Ramone, a CD of 11 self-penned songs. Listen Here!

Tom Mitchell usually has a seed of a song playing inside his head. Sometimes they’re captured and become songs, sometimes they vanish and return later. Regardless, the guitar comes out of the case, and the fingers start to move. They’ve got help, drawing on decades of music of numerous artists that have left their mark; artists that range from the Beatles to Bach, Jobim to James Taylor and many others.

Nancy Sferra is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter living in Bath. Her inspiration comes from found poems – snatches of overheard conversation, notes from a discarded journal, objects, lines from books or other texts, and photographs and has two CDs of original music, Smoke and Bone and Hardened Ground. Listen Here!

Doors open at 6 PM, concert starts at 7 PM. Show admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Dinner will be a trip to Philly – we’ll be serving cheesesteaks “wit!” This classic sammie is soft bun stuffed with shaved ribeye, griddled onions, and real Cheez Whiz(!!), and is served with chips, and a tangy caesar brussels salad. $16 includes tax and gratuity. Reserve your dinner with your advance ticket purchase.
