We’re privileged to welcome back Jeff Peacock‘s wonderful fish art to our walls .
To celebrate, we are hosting a reception and talk with Jeff on Friday October 4th. Jeff will talk about the traditional art of Gyotaku and his approach to fishing and art.

Gyotaku literally means “fish rubbing” or “fish impression.” Originally practiced by fisherman to memorialize their catches, today artists around the world have adopted this method to create unique, compelling, and beautiful works of art.

Jeff’s a native Mainer, who learned to fish at his family’s place here in West Georgetown. He’s passionate about fish and the outdoors, and he works to bring the fish of Maine alive through his art.

In addition to the original works, Jeff will bring a selection of unframed prints for sale.

We’ll have light snacks to munch on and drinks to purchase. See his art at any one of our events in September and October, and stop by 10/4 to meet Jeff!
