Alison Lee Freeman is best known locally as a singer of American folk songs and popular music from the Great Age of Sail, but as a songwriter Freeman tells stories of heartbreak, regret, and loss with remarkable insight and sensitivity. Her rich, resonant voice and the bittersweet confessional tone of her songs is sometimes moving, sometimes witty, but always an intelligent examination of interpersonal relationships. This performance will be a mix of nautical poetry set to music, renovated folk songs, and original songs.  Freeman performs regularly in New England and Newfoundland at a variety of diverse venues such as museums, festivals, cruise ships, schools, clubs, and assisted living facilities.  To watch or listen please visit Sparloft.com.
